Back in ancient times before footings and poured cement foundations, they use to dig below the surface and put in the first stone known as the cornerstone. This stone was important because all the other stones that would be laid out beside it and on top of it would form the building.
Jesus is referred to as the cornerstone. In Ephesians 2:19-22 “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the LORD. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”
In John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life; no man comes to the father except through Me." Watch the video clip and see how Jesus can be the first stone in your life!
I Peter 2:4-5a says, “As you come to him, the living Stone rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him, you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house…”
